Tasting Room on Seneca in Himrod, NY

Assistant Tasting Room Manager

Approximately 30 hours per week, weekends required. 
Energetic and self motivated.

Tasks:

• Consults regularly with the sales manager regarding featured products and customer hospitality.
• Monitors quality level of personnel performance.
• Manages case flow in tasting room relative to tasting fees.
• Provides cash accountability and security.
• Coordinates with manager for training seasonal personnel in product knowledge, tasting operations and T.I.P.S. Training.
• Manages visitor inebriation and underage proofing. To include the use of the daily incident log and the uniform incident report form. Ensures that the state law is vigorously and constantly applied.
• Monitors visitor satisfaction with tasting.
• Reports weekly to Manager on nature of tour and tasting activities.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Position Skills:

• Must relate effectively and regularly with peers and spontaneously with guests.
• Must be able to act appropriately for prolonged periods without direct supervision.
• Must have well-developed communication skills in English.
• Experience with a POS system is preferred.
• Accurately handle purchasing transactions, including cash register and daily accounting.
• Able to manage the serving of multiple guests at once.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
• MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS, AS REQUIRED.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift cases of wine (40+ pounds).
• Must be imbued with the passion of winemaking and selling.
