New Dessert Wine Wins Best of Class

June 25, 2008

Judges at the 2008 Los Angeles International Wine and Spirits Competition deemed our newly released 2006 Ingle Vineyard Late Harvest Riesling Reserve a Gold medal winner and "Best of Class".  This award comes on the heels of its Double Gold at the Taster's Guild Competition last month.  Our 2006 Late Harvest Vidal Blanc also gathered a Gold in Los Angeles for a total of three Golds and two Double Golds for that wine.  What does all of this gold mean?  In some ways we like to think nothing, our wines speak for themselves and no amount of accolades change the fact that our wines are expertly crafted reflections of our regional terroir.  On the other hand everyone likes to know that their efforts are recognized and appreciated, which I suppose is the reason that we continue to enter competitions and are continually pleased when our wines show well.   So are gold medals a good indicator of a quality wine?  I guess you'll just have to try the wines for yourself to find out!
