WINE CHARACTERISTICS

The fastest growing red wine in our portfolio, which now comes with a screw cap, is a semi-dry, medium-bodied red with a brilliant ruby color. The Game Bird Red is produced with a blend of Foch, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This creates a complex and smooth feel, with herbal and black cherry aromas. Rich blackberries open up to reveal a full palate leaving a soft fruit finishing on the tongue, begging for another sip.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Game Bird Red is a perfect pairing for any pasta dish, especially Grandma’s homemade lasagna. Tomato Basil pizzas really bring out the soft berry qualities from the Foch and Cabernet Franc blend. Although I live a long way off in Virginia my wife and I have visited the Finger Lakes a number of times and always look forward to visiting Heron Hill. Game Bird Red is one of my all time favorites and the last time we were there I bought a case. It is an excellent wine for the money. We plan to visit this year to celebrate our 54 th wedding anniversary!

My husband and I visited the Finger Lakes this past summer and were treated to a supreme tasting experience at this Winery. I love this red wine. It is so smooth and not acidic at all. The screw on top makes it easy to seal back up and make it last a few days. Great value!

I usually prefer drier reds, but this one knocks my socks off! Heron Hill will be on our permanent list visit during our annual trip to the area.

GAME BIRD RED is the absolute best red wine i've ever had. My husband and I visit the region as a weekend get a away and happend to find this winery, I fell in love with wine on the first sip. Simply Awesome!!!!!
