This release's theme is focused on the Alsatian Wines from the mountainous region of France, near the border of Germany. Certified Sommelier and club manager, Benn, will be leading the drinking, Q&A and short photos / videos / map presentation about the history of the famous Alsatian white varietals that are now stars in the Finger Lakes as well! Most importantly Riesling, but also Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. Benn will recommend classic wines (approx $20) that you could get at your local liquor store from Alsace to try, along with opening, if desired, a Heron Hill white and chatting about (and drinking) wine on the online somminar!
The webinar will be a fun, informal gathering, where members are all on together and are encouraged to drink, chat, ask questions, and learn some new nerdy wine info. I encourage you to open a bottle of wine, and if you want, come with a food pairings to enjoy as well (pairings will be suggested in an email a few days before).
