Heron Hill Winery, a prominent Finger Lakes winery for over 35 years, is seeking a Manager for our Tasting Room at Bristol on Canandaigua Lake. This position is responsible for effectively managing the sales department (gift shop, tasting room, and special events) for the Tasting Room at Bristol in conjunction with the team and vision of Heron Hill Winery.
This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, creative person who is passionate about customer service and the Finger Lakes region.
Responsibilities will include:
· Hands-on work serving customers at the wine tasting bar and retail counter
· Management of seasonal part-time staff
o Including hiring and disciplinary actions
o Implement training procedures and standards
· Event management at the Tasting Room at Bristol
o Booking and execution of special events which will include weddings and private events
o Sales and promotion of venue as a premier event location
· Canandaigua Wine Trail liaison
o Attend and participate in Canandaigua Wine Trail meetings
o Plan and execute wine trail events at the Bristol Tasting Room
· Primary customer service contact in regards to the Bristol Tasting Room
o Ensure optimal customer service experience for visitors
o Establish and maintain standards and procedures for staff
· Inventory management and accountability
o Maintain accurate wine and gift shop inventories
o Procurement of gift shop items in coordination with Heron Hill Winery
o Continually update and maintain gift shop displays to keep orderly and fresh
· Building and grounds maintenance
o Facilitate grounds maintenance
o Facilitate repairs
o Some light gardening and hands-on work required
· Work within budget
o Meet sales goals
o Manage expenses
Full-Time, Seasonal Position (April through December)
Weekends and some evenings required
Microsoft RMS knowledge preferred
Prior retail experience preferred
Must be willing and able to lift 40 pounds on a recurring basis
